With the rapid development of information technology, the problem of protecting children from illegal content on the Internet is becoming more globalized. Every day the Internet offers huge opportunities to young users, allows you to learn a lot of new, fascinating and useful information, communicate with friends and coevals. Using modern technology, of course, useful for children, but not always safe.

What is dangerous for children, unprotected access to the Internet?

High risk of encounter pornographic, extremist, violent content.

Not managed downloading various files, which increases the load on the channel carrier, and many times increases the chance of infecting your computer malicious software that may lead to adverse effects (eg, an increase in spam, infecting other computers, networks, etc.).

Useless and often dangerous, a waste of free time on social networks, instant messaging and other online-services.

The problem of ensuring a safe and supervised children's access to Internet resources are concerned, millions of parents whose children have the opportunity to enter into the World Network.

According to the study "Public Opinion Foundation (POF), adult (18 +) the Internet audience in Russia in the late summer of 2009 was 40 million. According to statistics experts, an average of 2 out of 10 Internet users now - are children. Consequently, one could argue on about 8 million young users, if based on the ratio of Internet audience of children and adults in the West.

According to a study conducted by the Development Fund for the Internet "in March-April 2009, the most popular place to use the Internet for children under the age of 12 years is the house (over 70% of respondents). However, according to on-line-survey RU metriks poll, about half of the parents control the online movements of their children only up to 10 years. Further control over the 12-14-year-olds from parents weakens, resulting in only 5-10% of teenagers go online to the network under parental supervision.

One reason for the weakening of parental control - inadequate knowledge of adults themselves about the possibilities of technical control, unwillingness to understand the installation of specialized software. This increasing demands from parents - is blocking children from attending sites with pornographic content and access to the aggressive, undesirable content for children.
